When Must You Visit an Ent Physician?

Most individuals will visit their primary care physician for therapy if they occasionally have a sore throat or a stuffy nose. But occasionally, an otolaryngologist - a doctor who specializes in the ear, nose, and throat - may need to examine them more closely (ENT).

What do ear doctors in Lajpat Nagar physicians do?

The medical field of otolaryngology focuses on identifying and treating diseases of the ear, nose, and throat. An ENT physician undergoes further education and training after completing medical school in order to focus on treating diseases that affect certain parts of the body.

Ear doctors in Sarita Vihar who are board-certified have finished four years of undergraduate study, four years of medical school, and at least five years of speciality training. Aside from passing the NATIONAL BOARD OF EXAMINATIONS IN MEDICAL SCIENCES, ENT doctors must also complete further study to become specialists in particular fields.

When necessary, they can offer medical or surgical care to handle certain problems. Depending on the condition being treated, medicinal treatment may be attempted initially, and if it is deemed insufficiently effective, surgery may be suggested.

The following conditions are managed both medically and surgically by ENT specialists:

• ENT-related conditions of the head and neck;

• Conditions of the ear;

• Conditions of the nose;

• Conditions of the throat; (such as infections, tumors, and trauma-related conditions)

When should one visit an ENT specialist?

Your primary care physician may recommend you to an ENT specialist; you are free to choose that specialist or another. You can schedule a visit with an ENT physician on your own as well.

As a general guideline, you should visit an ENT physician if your symptoms of the ears, nose, or throat persist. For instance, you can get sinus problems that persist despite treatment efforts. Simple issues typically resolve pretty quickly, but if your symptoms persist or disappear only to reappear frequently, the cause may be more serious than a virus or other transient problem that will go away on its own.
